Doofbewust Vlaanderen organise un séminaire unique “les nouvelles sourdes, que pouvons-nous apprendre des Etats-Unis ?” en collaboration avec Visual box vzw. Ce séminaire aura lieu à Gand, grâce au soutien et à la co-organisation de l’Université de Gand. Au centre de ce séminaire se trouve un conférencier sourd invité des États-Unis : le présentateur de nouvelles Alex Abenchuchan de The Daily Moth (www.dailymoth.com).

Alex Abenchuchan donnera sa conférence principalement en American Sign Language (ASL). Jorn Rijckaert de Visual Box et les panélistes utiliseront la langue des signes internationale (IS). Des interprètes sourds ASL/IS – langue des signes flamande seront présents.
